Home Security
& Control

Your home,
run quietly.

Home security systems, smart home automation, lighting, home theater and multi-room audio, designed as one system for homes across North and Central New Jersey.

The approach

Smart homes got a reputation for being complicated. That was an installation problem.

Technology at home should make life simpler. One button turns on the TV and everything it needs. A glance at your phone shows the kids in the backyard. We start by asking what you want, build exactly that, and leave room to add more later.

Convenience first

One tap: garage open, alarm off, lights on, music playing.

Some clients want control of everything from a single app, and a button by the door that sets the whole house for the evening.

Security first

See who is at the door, and know the garage is closed.

Others want certainty: live video of the front door, a text if the power fails and another when it is restored, proof that every door is shut.

Residential systems

8 disciplines, one team

01

Security & Surveillance

Monitored burglary, fire, carbon monoxide and flood protection, with cameras placed from a survey of your property. We install and service thousands of systems across New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

  • Honeywell / Resideo
  • Alarm.com
  • Cellular radio
  • 2 MP to 4K
  • Smoke, heat, CO, glass break, motion, door, window, temperature and flood sensors
  • Hardwired, wireless or a mix, chosen room by room
  • Cellular communication, more reliable than phone or internet lines
  • Battery backup in the panel for power outages
  • Hardwired IP cameras to a local NVR, or Wi-Fi cameras where wiring is impractical
  • Doorbell cameras with instant alerts and two-way talk

Placement matters. A smoke sensor within three feet of a supply duct collects dust and trips false alarms. Details like this are why we install every system ourselves.

Smart Locks & Access

Lock, unlock and check every door from your phone. Let in a contractor while you are away, and know the moment the kids are home from school.

  • Yale
  • Schlage
  • Kwikset
  • August
  • Z-Wave / Zigbee
  • Deadbolt and lever styles in finishes to match your hardware
  • Keypad codes for family, guests and service companies
  • A notification for every lock and unlock
  • Garage door status and control in the same app
  • Backup battery terminal if the lock's batteries run out

Remote control relies on your internet connection. The keypad at the door works either way.

Home Automation

Control4 ties lighting, climate, shades, audio, video and security into one system, run from keypads, touchscreens, your phone or your voice. It is the smart home platform we recommend and support.

  • Control4
  • Ecobee
  • Honeywell
  • Nest
  • Smart thermostats with schedules and remote adjustment
  • Automatic setback at night and back to comfort by morning
  • On-screen control of climate and security from any TV
  • Scenes that combine lights, shades, music and locks
  • Expandable as your needs change

Check with your HVAC contractor first: some systems, including certain Carrier units, need an extra module to work with a smart thermostat.

Lighting & Shade Control

Lighting scenes at the press of a button, exterior lights that follow sunset through the seasons, and motorized shades that protect floors and furniture from the sun.

  • Seven-button keypads
  • Astronomical clock
  • Motorized shades
  • Keypads that replace banks of switches, each button a scene
  • All lights off from any room, or from your phone
  • Landscape lighting that adjusts to sunrise and sunset automatically
  • Shades that open and close on schedule or with a scene
  • Movie night: lights dim, shades drop, the screen comes on

Home Theater

Dedicated theaters and everyday family rooms, designed for the space and the budget, with the equipment housed out of sight. Home theater installation across New Jersey, with upgrades as technology moves on.

  • Sony
  • Samsung
  • LG
  • Epson
  • Denon
  • Triad
  • MartinLogan
  • Projector and screen, or an 80 to 90 inch panel with less upkeep

  • One-button startup for the whole system

Large panels now cost less to own than most projectors, with no bulbs to replace. We will tell you which suits your room.

Often not for a whole house. Provider routers are built for convenience, and coverage usually fades at the edges of a home. Locks, cameras and speakers need a strong, steady signal, so we typically recommend a current router with wired access points placed where they are needed.

A properly installed, monitored system detects fire, carbon monoxide and intrusion, and gets help moving while you are asleep or away. Placement and monitoring are what make the difference, which is why we design and install every system ourselves.

No. Our systems communicate by cellular radio, which is more reliable than internet phone service and does not depend on copper lines, which are being phased out in many areas.

Yes. We use hardwired devices where walls are accessible and wireless sensors where they are not, so an older home can be protected without opening up finished walls.

A 4K display, 4K sources such as a streaming device or player, a fast and stable internet connection, and HDMI cabling rated for the signal. We check every link in that chain when we design a room.
